About the Role

As a Shop Assistant Cashier, you’ll be the friendly face at the checkout, ensuring every customer leaves with a smile. You’ll process transactions accurately, promote the Clicks ClubCard, and share details on promotions — helping customers “feel good and pay less.”
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service at the point of sale (POS).
- Accurately scan merchandise and process payments, including ClubCard rewards.
- Handle cash responsibly and maintain accuracy in all transactions.
- Actively promote and enroll customers in the Clicks ClubCard programme.
- Inform customers about current promotions and offers.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized checkout area.
- Assist with merchandising and stock replenishment as required.
- Stay updated on product knowledge and store promotions.
Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
Desirable:
- Pass in Maths and English (50% or higher) at Grade 12 level
- Previous retail or FMCG customer-facing experience
- Basic math skills
- Understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and stock management
- Strong customer service skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
