Salary: Starting at CPS CL 23 Step 1 – $37,357 with the potential for promotion to CL 24 – $41,368 – $67,231 based on experience and qualifications within the Court Personnel System.

Position Administrative Support vacancy Job Summary: Administrative Supports are responsible for various administrative tasks including filing, copying, distributing mail, data entry, phone answering, typing, report assembly, and greeting visitors or clients.
Representative Duties: The following examples illustrate the major responsibilities of this role:
- Welcome and assist visitors or clients in person and over the phone, answering basic inquiries, and directing them to the appropriate person or department.
Assist in the preparation of various documents and correspondence, utilizing templates and forms. This includes tasks such as typing, keyboarding, formatting, and generating documents based on templates, notes, or dictation. Additionally, maintain records of all correspondence.
Perform data entry duties, as well as generate standard reports from computerized systems and databases. Keep track of statistics and data.
Receive all incoming materials from within the court and prioritize and route them to the appropriate individuals in the office. Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including any special handling requirements, and provide messenger services as needed.
Manage both paper and electronic files, keeping them updated and organized. Make copies and deliver documents to staff members when necessary. Assist the records and reproduction staff with various tasks such as scanning, copying, filing, stamping, and locating files and documents.
Take charge of scheduling appointments, arranging meetings, and maintaining staff calendars.
Minimum requirements for this position include a high school diploma, two years of general experience (equivalent to one academic year), and knowledge and experience with Windows, Adobe, and Microsoft Word. While direct experience with a law enforcement agency or education in criminal justice is preferred, it is not required.
Applicants must be either citizens of the United States or eligible to work in the United States. A background investigation, including fingerprinting and criminal records checks, will be conducted in collaboration with law enforcement agencies.
Applicants may be subject to an investigation as deemed necessary. If selected for a position, applicants will be hired provisionally pending a successful completion of the investigation. It is important to note that this position requires mandatory Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for payment of net pay.
The U.S. Probation Office is part of the Judicial Branch of the U.S. Government. Employees in the judiciary serve under “Excepted Appointment” and are considered “At-Will” employees.
