Key Responsibilities
As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of government buildings. Your duties will include:
- General Cleaning: Dusting, sweeping, scrubbing, polishing furniture, and waxing floors.
- Waste Management: Removing waste daily and emptying dustbins.
- Cleaning Services: Using cleaning aids (brooms, vacuum cleaners, polishers) to maintain hygiene.
- Dishwashing: Washing crockery and cutlery for officials.
- Furniture & Carpet Care: Dusting, polishing furniture, and vacuuming carpets.
- Sweeping & Mopping: Cleaning offices, corridors, and boardrooms.
- Window & Wall Cleaning: Washing windows and walls as required.
- Toilet Cleaning: Keeping restrooms clean, hygienic, and replenished with supplies.
- Equipment Care: Reporting any broken cleaning equipment or appliances for repair.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Qualification: NQF Level 2 or ABET equivalent.
- Skills: Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Communication: Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge:
- Cleaning consumables and use of cleaning equipment.
- Basic health and safety procedures.
- Correct use of cleaning chemicals.
