Department Focus
- Guardians of Heritage: Safeguarding and promoting Limpopo’s rich cultural heritage
- Role Overview: Responsible for grounds maintenance, cleaning, materials handling, landscaping, vegetation control, fire prevention, and manual labor to keep sites safe and accessible
Positions and Details
- Position: General Worker (3 posts)
- Salary: R138,486 per annum (Level 02)
- Locations:
- Muti Wa Va Tsonga Museum (Mopani District) Ref No: DSAC 2025/36 (2 posts)
- Sekhukhune District Ref No: DSAC 2025/37
- Closing Date: 31 October 2025
Key Responsibilities
- Grounds maintenance to keep areas clean and well-maintained
- Cleaning and upkeep of structures and tools
- Raw material handling for restoration projects
- Landscaping to control water flow and reduce soil erosion
- Vegetation control including debushing and weed clearing
- Fire prevention through creation and maintenance of firebreaks
- General manual labor as required
Essential Requirements
- Education: NQF Level 1 or 2 (Grade 8 or 9) or AET/ABET Level 2 certificate from a recognized institution
- Skills:
- Good communication with colleagues and visitors
- Physical fitness and health for outdoor work
- Ability to work under pressure and in varying environments
- No allergies to grass; comfortable working outdoors
- Knowledge of maintenance and cleaning practices (paving, bush clearing, firebreaks, erosion control)
