About the Role
The City of uMhlathuze is seeking enthusiastic, customer-focused Casual Cashiers to join our team on an 8-month fixed-term contract. You will support the smooth operation of our sports and recreation facilities, including swimming pools, by processing cash transactions and providing excellent service to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process payments accurately and efficiently
- Provide clear information to clients about charges and services
- Record daily collections and prepare schedules for verification
- Prioritize tasks to maintain operational efficiency
- Follow municipal policies and procedures
- Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor with the public
- Be available to work on weekends and public holidays when required
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- 2–5 years relevant experience (cash handling, customer service)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Client-focused approach with strong communication skills
- Adaptability, professionalism, and emotional resilience
- Strong organizational skills
