We are currently hiring 50 casual Betting Clerks to join our Durban team on a fixed-term basis. If you’re energetic, service-driven, and passionate about the betting industry—this opportunity is for you!
Minimum Requirements
- Entry-level position – No prior experience required
- Matric certificate preferred
- Advantageous:
- Valid driver’s license
- Diploma or Degree in a relevant field
- 1–2 years’ experience in the Gaming Industry
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Betting Operations
- Take customer bets and explain betting options clearly
- Handle payouts and manage stakes accurately
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and customer-focused attitude
- Address complaints promptly and provide constructive feedback
- Build relationships with regular customers
- Promote a “service with a smile” approach
Branch Administration
- Update betting boards, results, memos, and card changes as they occur
- Understand all betting rules, odds, and pay-out procedures
- Report and confirm high-value bets when necessary
- Comply with company policies and procedures
Cash Handling & Risk Management
- Manage branch float accurately and balance daily
- Be alert to and report any fraud, theft, or unusual activity
- Immediately declare and resolve cash shortages or overs
- Adhere to company policies regarding cash and credit bets
Branch Appearance & Maintenance
- Ensure the branch remains clean, tidy, and in line with company standards
- Keep all workstations in good working condition
- Report any equipment malfunctions promptly
Compliance & Conduct
- Follow internal control policies and the company’s code of ethics
- Always wear the correct uniform while on duty
- Do not place bets in uniform or while behind the counter when off duty
- Avoid using restricted equipment during shifts
