Scaw South Africa invites motivated and unemployed youth to apply for the 2025 Apprenticeship Programme, designed to develop technical skills and open up career opportunities in the engineering and manufacturing sectors. This structured programme offers a blend of hands-on practical training, formal classroom learning, and leads to nationally recognised qualifications upon successful completion.
Available Trades
- Electrician – Gain expertise in electrical installations, maintenance, and fault-finding across industrial equipment.
 - Fitter – Learn to assemble, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and machinery.
 - Millwright – Become a multi-skilled technician equipped with both electrical and mechanical abilities to service complex systems.
 
Minimum Entry Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet one of the following:
- Successfully completed Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (Mathematical Literacy not accepted)
OR - Hold a National Technical Certificate (NTC3) in Engineering Science and Mathematics (excluding Mathematical Literacy)
 
Additional Criteria
- Must be a South African citizen
 - A valid driver’s license is advantageous
 
Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will go through a comprehensive selection process, which includes:
- Aptitude and technical written tests
 - Panel interviews
 - Medical assessments
 - Reference checks
 - Qualification verification
 
This process ensures that candidates selected are well-prepared for the demands of the apprenticeship and future employment.

 - Certified copy of academic qualifications (not older than 3 months)
 - Certified copy of South African ID
