Detailed Position Information (Gert Sibande TVET College):
1. Groundsman (9 Posts)
- Salary: R138 486 per annum (Level 02), plus benefits

- Requirements:
- Grade 10 Certificate (Standard 8)
- Knowledge: Repetitive tasks, facilities policies, relevant legislation, prescripts, policies & procedures, hygiene, and storage requirements.
- Skills: Basic maintenance, ability to perform strenuous physical labor, and ability to work under pressure.
- Duties:
- Maintain premises and surroundings; clean premises and empty dirt bins.
- Maintain the garden: watering, pruning, trimming, mowing, weeding, removing refuse, applying insecticides, and cultivating soil.
- Maintain gardening equipment and tools; detect and report malfunctions; repair minor defects.
- Wash college vehicles.
- Loading, off-loading, and movement of goods, stock, and assets.
2. Cleaner (4 Posts)
- Salary: R138 486 per annum (Level 02), plus benefits

- Requirements:
- Grade 10 Certificate (Standard 8)
- Knowledge: Repetitive tasks, facilities policies, relevant legislation, prescripts, policies & procedures, hygiene, and storage requirements.
- Skills: Reading, operating equipment, communication (verbal and written), people management, office management and administration, analytical skills, computer literacy, problem-solving, planning, and organizing.
- Duties:
- Clean offices, corridors, elevators, and boardrooms.
- Dust and wax office furniture.
- Sweep, scrub, mop, and wax floors.
- Vacuum and shampoo floors.
- Clean walls, windows, and floors.
- Empty and clean dirt bins; collect and remove waste paper.
- Freshen office areas.
- Clean general kitchens (refilling soap, replacing toilet paper/towels).
- Keep and maintain cleaning materials and equipment.
- Report broken cleaning machines.
- Perform other general work as needed.
