THE GENERAL WORKER ROLE
As a General Worker, you will play a key support role in Unitrans’ daily delivery, distribution, and warehouse operations. This position is essential to ensuring that goods are handled safely, vehicles are kept clean and roadworthy, and operational processes run smoothly and efficiently.
The role is hands-on and physically demanding, making it suitable for individuals who enjoy active work environments and are comfortable performing manual labour. You will work closely with drivers, supervisors, and other operational staff to ensure deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Loading and offloading goods in a safe and efficient manner
- Assisting drivers during deliveries and navigating routes when required
- Handling goods carefully to prevent damage or loss
- Recording delivery information accurately and reporting discrepancies
- Cleaning vehicles to maintain hygiene and safety standards
- Keeping warehouses, loading bays, and work areas clean and organised
- Supporting end-of-shift load-off and close-out procedures
- Performing general housekeeping and operational support duties
- Complying with all safety rules, policies, and procedures
- Assisting with ad-hoc tasks as required by supervisors

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- Grade 12 / Matric / National Certificate (NQF Level 4)
- Own reliable transport to and from work
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
- Previous experience in warehousing, manufacturing, or logistics environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
