Available Positions
Position: Cashier (x4 Posts)
Closing Date: 29 October 2025
Key Responsibilities
As a cashier, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction and efficient store operations. Your duties will include:
- Greeting customers with a friendly, engaging attitude
- Processing transactions accurately using the POS system
- Handling cash and payments with integrity
- Providing product information and assisting with customer queries
- Resolving customer issues professionally and efficiently
- Scanning and bagging products accurately and securely
- Maintaining a clean and organized checkout area
- Promoting Dis-Chem loyalty programs and store promotions
- Meeting or exceeding sales and service targets
- Following company policies, safety, and cash-handling procedures
- Assisting in preventing losses and ensuring store security
- Helping stock shelves and manage inventory when required
- Upselling and cross-selling to enhance the customer experience
- Staying updated on product knowledge and promotions
- Counting cash accurately at the start and end of each shift
- Processing returns and exchanges per company policy
- Contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment
Skills and Attributes

Desired Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following will be advantageous:
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- Previous retail or customer service experience
