Position: Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claims Officer
Salary: R269,499 per annum
Location: Various Labour Centres and Satellite Offices – KwaZulu-Natal
Overview
The Department of Employment and Labour is hiring 67 UI Claims Officers across various Labour Centres in KwaZulu-Natal. If you hold a Grade 12/Senior Certificate and meet the minimum criteria, you are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate
- 0–6 months relevant experience
Knowledge of:
- Unemployment Insurance Act & Contributions Act
- Public Service Act & Regulations
- Batho Pele Principles
- Departmental policies and procedures
Skills:
- Verbal & written communication
- Customer service
- Computer literacy
- Listening and decision-making
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and process UI claims in line with SOPs
- Register employers and verify employee declarations
- Execute payments for approved claims
- Address enquiries related to claim processing
- Carry out administrative duties in the unit
