Permanent Administration Clerk Position — Department of Defence

The Department of Defence is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for a Permanent Administration Clerk position at the Defence Reserves Division.


Closing Date: 23 June 2025
Location: Armscor Building, Erasmuskloof, Pretoria
Salary: R228 321 – R268 950 per annum (Level 05)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the Reserves is an advantage

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Photoshop is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with good interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general clerical and administrative support
  • Handle correspondence, data capturing, filing, and routine inquiries
  • Manage website updates (internet and intranet)
  • Support procurement processes (quotations, asset register)
  • Perform secretarial tasks including typing, document tracking, and travel arrangements
  • Assist with catering and hospitality for official meetings and guests
