Position Details

Main Purpose
Deliver service excellence by managing sales transactions, merchandising, and loyalty initiatives to ensure a memorable, positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, processing payments, returns, and vouchers accurately.
- Maintain accuracy in cash handling and compliance with store policies to minimize risks.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service; assist with product selection and inquiries.
- Actively promote the Clicks ClubCard loyalty program, explaining benefits and encouraging participation.
- Inform customers about in-store promotions and seasonal sales to boost satisfaction and sales.
- Keep product displays attractive, shelves stocked and organized, and support promotional setups.
- Ensure cleanliness and order in all store areas, reflecting Clicks’ hygiene and safety standards.
- Stay up-to-date with product knowledge to guide customers effectively.
- Collaborate with team members and management for smooth daily operations.
- Adhere to health and safety policies for the well-being of customers and staff.
Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
- Basic math skills for cash handling.
- Understanding of FMCG retail operations, stock rotation, and merchandising.
- Customer service awareness and sales techniques.
- Experience in retail or FMCG environments is desirable, especially in cashier roles.
- Familiarity with cash handling and POS systems advantageous.
Education
- Essential: Grade 12 (Matric Certificate).
- Desirable: 50% or higher in English and mathematics at Grade 12.
Skills and Competencies
- Essential: Strong customer orientation, communication, attention to detail, planning, problem-solving, and basic computer literacy.
- Desirable: Ability to work under pressure, teamwork, confidence in promoting loyalty programs.
- Core competencies include relating and networking, following procedures, delivering customer results, and coping with pressure.
